[CBQ] Passenger Train Detours Over the Q

The latest copy of Classic Trains has a photo of the combined EB/NCL detouring 
over the Milwaukee Road in 1967 from Chicago to La Crosse because of the CB&Q 
bridge being out at Galena Jct. While this would be great for a Milwaukee 
modeler wanting to run the EB/NCL, my question is this:

During the 1967-1969 period can anyone recall the Milwaukee Road Hiawatha 
detouring over the C&I through Oregon and Savanna because of a bridge being 
out, flood, derailment, etc,? Or any other non-Q passenger train?
