For sale STEAM LOCOMOTIVES OF THE BURLINGTON ROUTE, Bernard G. Corbin & William 
F. Kerka, Thos. D. Murphy  Co., 1960, 320 pages, FIRST EDITION. Hardcover book 
in very good condition: tight binding, clean pages, NO dust jacket, black 
covers with gold lettering. A comprehensive examination of the steam 
locomotives on the CB&Q from the early woodburners to modern steam power. Every 
class of steam engine operated by the Burlington is discussed. Also included 
are steam locomotives of the C&S and FW&D. A complete steam roster of the CB&Q 
from 1904-1959 and over 530 illustrations including photos and locomotive 
diagrams. Of interest to scale model railroaders are the locomotive plans 
representative of Burlington motive power and the assignment sheets listing the 
accessories (feedwater, heater system, stoker type, etc.) used on each 
locomotive. Please note this is a first edition not the later "value" copies 
printed by Bonanza Books or Random House.
