When the La Salle County (Ottawa) fair was held at the Driving Park(Horse racing) they had a rail siding. Course there was rail service to the NIFA(Northern Illinois Fair Asso.) on the North side of Aurora for both Passenger and livestock(horse racing) Both were also served by the local streetcar/interurban. There was an derailment (Burned off Journal) on a load of stock from the La Salle County Fair on the way to Streator. My brother worked for him and I remember all the fairs that were around in Southern and Central Illinois, where they were shown. Those cows were a gentle as puppy dogs. I know that some of those cattle went to the fairs by rail and my brother would ride with them. It seems to me most towns of good size had a stock pen, and if they had a fairground, they had a rail spur.
