Hi Colin -

The photos I have of 280 in red are post BN-merger and the unit did not have
stripes all the way around the nose (i.e. the flat panel was red). I have seen
a few red units with the stripes all the way around the ends, with one, the 279
in 1959, but by merger, it had been repainted again with the flat panel in red
and a wide sill stripe. I found a photo of red 270 post-merger with the
stripes all the way around the nose.
