Hi Colin,

I do not have a photo of 280 handy, but I think that for the most part, the early GPs and SDs did not have stripes that went all the way around.  The flat panel on the very front was solid red.

The Q GP9s were all Phase Is.  Phase 2 GP9s were characterized by single 48" fans on the long hood, with other subtle differences.

Thanks!

Hi all

Can anyone point me in the direction of a photo of the 280 in red? I have an O scale red caboose version of this loco and would like to check if the front white stripes go all of the way across the short hood.

Also on the subject of GP9's were any of the Q GP9's phase 2?

Many thanks
