How about things were "abolished"? It was never just ended or discontinued. I always remember a time when a special agent arrested a trespasser and transported him by train. The ticket read "account special agent". Another thing was the spelling for folks who worked for the railroad, it was "employe" with one e. I still say "by wire" when I'm talking about faxes or e-mails. That used to drive my staff up the wall. Then, there was the whole thing about RRB mail.
