It's been over 30 years....... I would say 20-30/day in the early to mid 70s higher in the later 70s. I understand it was lower in the 60s. But like many industries car supply flows were critical . The more empties available the more that could be loaded.

Even today many in the industry fail to understand that an empty is as important as a load
