A number of years ago a CD of the track alignment charts was prepared and offered for sale, if you can find that DC or get your hands n the track charts themselves, you can get some idea of what what used as ballast on a particular section of track at a particular time. It wount give you the color but you will be able to tell if the ballast was slag, cinder, rock etc. Dick Schultz __._,_.___
