It was relocated as a grade reduction project. "Browning Hill" was the steepest grade from Zeigler Junction to the Twin Cities. From: ROGERK <xark@mtco.com> To: CBQ@yahoogroups.com Sent: Monday, May 21, 2012 12:04 PM Subject: [CBQ] Browning Illinois depot 2012 I just put some pictures in the photo section under Browning Illinois Depot.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CBQ/photos/album/505171375/pic/list I just took these on an outing with my wife in May 2012. A lady at a nearby restaurant said the community uses the depot for local events. Browning is just north of Beardstown along the Illinois River. It part of the old line that went through Astoria. The line was relocated because it was flood prone from what I remember. I would appreciate any more information anyone can add to this. Thanks! Roger Kujawa Morton, IL. __._,_.___
