Ironically enough, the company I work for has a warehouse in a building that was constructed on the site where the old depot was located. Not much left to indicate what a large operation this was. The area is mostly dominated by the Rockford airport, now.

I found it very interesting as my father trained at Camp Grant during WW II and on return from Europe was discharged there.
