The Friends of the Milwaukee Road 261 folks were "shopping around" for a new steamer back in 2009 when the National Railway Museum in Green Bay wanted to jack up the 261's lease price beyond reason. I heard that the 4000's caretakers did not want to giver her up. Since Green Bay ended up selling the MILW 261 to the Friends, they no longer needed to look for another engine.
