I do know that perishables moved from Galesburg to St. Louisa and Paducah in time freights but not specials. Perishables also moved north from the NC&St.L connection at Paducah on the "hotshots". Anybody out there got answers to these questions for Bill?

In trying to understand the movement of perishables on the CB&Q, and until I know more or learn differently, it seems that two routes in particular require a look:
1.) The GN's "Fruit Specials" (so named before WWII) and "Fruit Forwarders" (so named after WWII) went from the Wenatchee Valley to Union Yard. It looks to me it would have been the CB&Q that would have coupled to this train to take it into Chicago or down to St. Louis. Was this the case? If so were these trains given special designations?
I realize this kind of subject may be beyond your scope of interests. Is there someone you can forward this message on to that may be able to help me? Finding Schedules to copy would be especially helpful. Bill Welch
