The BNSF still uses this when telling train crews when they have to wait for an opposing train to arrive and get through. It's also still used by track inspectors for "track & time" between mileposts i.e. Milepost 100.12 and Milepost 120.30. Fun to listen to. Re: Correspondence from the CRRM Library Archives<http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CBQ/message/38117;_ylc=X3oDMTJwMzU1Nm4xBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE1BGdycElkAzE3MTI3BGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNjA0MzAwNARtc2dJZAMzODExNwRzZWMDZG1zZwRzbGsDdm1zZwRzdGltZQMxMzIwOTQ4Mzk0> Something that hangs in my memory vividly is listening to the old time TO operators repeat a train order. I wish there were some old timers still around who could do it for a recording. If you were not familiar with what they were doing and saying you would have thought they were speaking a foreign language.
