I just finished rereading BB#47 and everything else I have on Q GP-7s and SD-7s, and I can't find anything about what horns were used. The prime mover for both was the EMD 567B without dynamic brakes for the GP-7 and with dynamic brakes for the second order of SD-7s (#300-324). As many of us install sound decoders in our DC and DCC ready locomotives, or purchase new DCC locomotives, it's important to not only know how they should look, but how they should sound. I hope that authors will start providing diesel, bell, and horn data to help us get the right sounds with which to program our decoders. I found that the SD-7s had pneumatic bells, but I couldn't find anything about GP-7 bells, nor could I find out what horns the Q use on GP-7s and SD-7s. Does anybody out there know the answer?
