In the 1950s and 1960s the Q's "Pullman" green heavyweight passenger cars were generally referred to by employees as black cars, so it's possible this is what color the B&SW cars really were. The Q was one of the last two big roads to paitn its passenger cars yellow; only the C&NW stuck with the color longer -- much longer, actually.
