Pete,
As Ken Martin notes, the current WP&Y #69 is not C&S $69. The current
locomotive was built for the WP&Y by Baldwin in 1908. It was retired
in 1954, sold to the Black Hills Central in 1956, sold to Nebraska
Midland in 1973, last run there in 1990 and resold to the WP&Y in
2001. It was rebuilt and returned to service in 2008.
The C&S #69 became WP&Y #20 in 1943, retired in 1944 and scrapped in
Seattle in 1946. C&S #70 was renumbered #21 by the WP&Y in June,
1943, retired in 1944 and shipped to Seattle where it, too, was
scrapped in 1946.
