Gerald, did you get my digitals of b&w 8X10's? Do you know anyone who may be interested in them? Best off. Bob Bullermann ----- Original Message ----- From: Gerald Edgar To: CBQ@yahoogroups.com Sent: Friday, July 29, 2011 11:36 AM Subject: [CBQ] Re: CBQ Train 21 For years either the Morning or Afternoon Zephyr held the No. American speed record for operational scheduled speeds with segments betwwwn Prarie du Chien & LaCrosse, E. Dubuque & Prairie and even Oregon to Savanna being among the top segments. This was often shown in Trains magazine. It was also this pair of trains that introduced Dome cars to the world and had a long time slogan of "Where Nature Smiles 300 Miles". No other trains had more domes in a normal consist and as a % of consist, they led all. Over the yrs 3 train sets were used with the Vista Dome set from "47 to BN being the best known. All were Budd built cars and ran the gamut of power from articulated to E-5's and finally E-8/9's.
