I certainly recall first time I saw a W-Bd NYC run thru somewhere between
Prairie du Chien & LaCrosse in the late 60's - had not seen a U-boat before
(the NYC power) with the see-thru screens, etc. However the times I saw the
run-thru's no solid trains or even a major 'cut' of Flexivan flats

Subject: [CBQ] NYC Flexi-van trains
When NYC-CB&Q had the run-through agreement in the 1960s (forget what years),
were any NYC movements pure Flexi-van trains, perhaps heading for the Northwest
via the Twin Cities?
Had it in mind that would have been something to see at East Dubuque. Instinct
tells me that, if I had to wager, I'd bet it didn't happen.
I have a U.S. map here published back in the day showing that Flexi-van
equipment ran on most of the major throughways. Surprised when I first saw it.
Thanks much,
Brian Chapman
