A friend of mine and I was reminiscing about growing up in Downers Grove IL in the 1960's and we both seem to remember the CB&Q displaying a gaudily painted steam engine of either 4-4-0 or 4-6-0 lineage, and perhaps as well an equally brightly painted passenger car, probably about the time that they were running the "gold" 4-8-4 excursions. In the past couple of month's I've seen a picture of the locomotive (up on a flat car if I remember right) but for the life of me I cannot turn up the photo despite a thorough web search. Can anyone provide me with information about this display equipment, a link to some photos, and what ultimately happened to the engine and car? Thank you kindly, Michael Matalis Downers Grove IL You can see my railroad photography blog at http://www.chasingheavymetal.com/blog/ You can see my photos and my ugly mug at http://www.flickr.com/photos/prairierailfan/collections/ ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
