From: HOL WAGNER
A group of five of us from Denver drove north to Casper for the 50th
anniversary of the Q's arrival there in October 1913. We arrived in time
to photograph the final painting of 4960 into gold, then photographed it
on the excursion train that ran northwest from Casper to Arminto and
return. It was an overcast day until quite late, when the sun came out
just before setting and we got some incredible shots of gold 4960 and
train in the golden light of the setting sun. One was used on a BRHS
calendar a few years back.

the Burlington, using water based paint, turned a steam loco 'gold' for
centennial events in Aurora & Wyoming. Question: anyone on the list
present at either event? if so, was any equipment painted gold that day
other than the steam loco & its tender? (or if not present, do you have
photo of same; i.e. anything other than the steam loco, 5632 as I recall
from books & photos)
