Rupert-
Good news that you and yours are okay. I have another friend, Mark Gasson,
who lives in NZ but he also lives out of the area of damage.
I did get the CD and I had already found and downloaded that volume. I have
filled in a number of missing books, but have to update the index and
cross-references from the one that I emailed to you. Then I'll get them
copied and off to you.
Right now I'm trying to finish up the SD7, SD9, SD9 phIV, SD24 drawings for the
SD Bulletin...... and continue packing. I'm up to 39 boxes of magazines and
still have to pack the RMCs and Railfans. At least now with the Trains CD I
don't have to move those back issues!!

Charlie
Thanks for your concerns. We're at the other end of the country so we are
only affected emotionally and spiritually. Everyone living
in NZ knows that a big shake was possible almost anywhere but to have a
second big one before they have recovered from the last one
was terrible. Many buildings and the infrastructure - such as water, sewerage
and gas pipes - were weakened by the September quake
and the thousands of aftershocks the region has suffered, that this one has
just finished them off.
Our Earthquake Commission had 180,000 claims resulting from the last quake
plus thousands of claims from the cyclone that hit the
country in January, and now it has to start all over again. It charges a $50
levy per home per year on insurance policies to fund
its cover and we are so grateful that it exists. But at a time that we are
trying to recover from the worldwide economic slump, we
didn't need this!
But we'll press on. By the way, did the disc with the extra book on it arrive
safely?
Regards
Maureen & Rupert
