I would like to know what type it is, who rebuilt it, and how much they want
for it.

I know we don't need a air pump for 745. I'm just spreading the word for them.

Subj: [CBQ] Anyone looking for a steam engine compressor?
I received this Email from Don Dandurand at the Siouxland Historical
Railroad Museum in Sioux City. They want to sell a compressor for steam
engine
and don't know who might be interested in buying one. Neither do I, so am
passing the request on to some of these lists. If anyone has any
information to share, please Email me, and I'll pass it along to Don. Thanks.

I know you guys don't run steam and I hope you do not mind my making
contact with you
in this matter, but trust you understand. Maybe you will be able to help
us out.
What, where and who would be good sources to make contact with, that are
rebuilding
or have working steamers that would maybe be interested in buying a
rebuilt steam engine air compressor?
When we had visions of running GN#1355, we had purchased a rebuilt steam
compressor from the
MILW #261 outfit that had it and wanted to sell it years ago.
We now want to sell it. When we removed it and put the original compressor
back on 1355,
we made a heavy wood framed crate for it and placed it in the crate.
It has never been used since rebuild and never dropped, thus no damage.
Until we get the particulars about it to refresh our memories with it, I
am sure it was
a big Westinghouse model.
So should be a hell of a pumper. Looks a lot like the ones that were
mounted on the front
of the big steamers.
Would you pass this along to some of your friends in steam and have them
pass it along
to others also if they are interested, etc.?
