Leo,

Up to the fifties, I believe #33 & 34 ran to Aurora with regular train,
including baggage car(s),  plus commuter cars.  They cut-off the rear cars
at Aurora and then the train continued as a local to Mendota.  Mail and
papers were off loaded at Montgomery with the Fox River " Puddle Jumper".
There was a small, high level platform just North of the crossing (at
tower).
