The line Rich is referring to is Metra's ex-GM&O Heritage Corridor to Joliet. However, the BNSF/Burlington cars are not in use on the Heritage Corridor, so Rich's friend was probably riding the Southwest Service, not the Heritage Corridor. The BNSF/Burlington cars can also show up on the ex-Wabash Southwest Service because SWS trains are serviced at the BNSF 14th Street shops in Chicago. Heritage Corridor trains are serviced at Metra's Western Avenue shops on the Milwaukee lines, and therefore do not use BNSF cars.
