"Real signs as they appear today" may be fine for BNSF in 2010 but this is
CB&Q; our era ended spring of 1970! (40+ yrs ago!!!) Graffitti, except for
some chalk scrawlings by switchmen & hobo's on boxcars & "Class of "65 et al",
was virtually non-existent. Tattoo parlors did not exist for the most part
except in a few port cities (CB&Q was a granger), etc. Have you considered
offering weathered signs appropriate for 50's & 60's when the bulk of our mbrs
model? "Insist on Safe Seal-fast Bowes Tire Repairs" appeared on barns, Burmas
Shave sequential signs ruled state hwy's and beers such as Hamm's, Drewry's,
Schmidts, Heileman 'Old Style' and Kingsbury were in Q country. We still had
Double Cola & Green River pop in the upper midwest, Ipana toothpaste (recall
Bucky Beaver?) and REA was present with UPS/Fedex not to be seen, etc.
Midwestern truck lines included Gateway & Glendenning and airlines still had
Ozark & North Central in Q country.
