The doors in the photos that I have all appear to be silver/aluminium as
opposed to white. However, none of the cars are
particularly clean so they could be dirty doors!
As regards the door sizes, the XM-4B and XML-11/XM-4C were both equipped with
8' (with grain access door) and 6' plugs.
126 XML-11's (and may be more) were reclassified as XM-4C's some time after
1967, but I don't know exactly when - any offers. The
only visible external difference I've found is in the classification stencil to
the right of the doors.
