I wish you luck in Z Scale. I have seen some impressive trains in N. Detail
on
HO diesels is out of site now. But I prefer to build in O(I know Old mans
scale)
I use the neat plastic sticks some restaurants use to tell you how the steak
was
cooked. Sand them smooth and paint white(or light gray) with a W or Y for rail
signs. I also use the Six Foot Rule. If you can not see the detail from 6
foot
away it is not needed.
4 X 8 Inch in Z scale would what be the size of a pin??

I asked around in lots of forums for info, with no luck, but I hit pay dirt
here. Right now I am working on a Z scale module with a "Y" , that can be found
on Google Earth, in Sesser Il, and eventually a crossing with the Mopac in
Waltonville. A roads cross both of those and you can look right on the street
level..you can see some nice coal Bethgons on the tracks!
I am asking around to see if those whistle posts can be made using either metal
etching, or perhaps a laser. Z is sooo tiny but you can do neat things these
days that are very small and still in scale.
There are several books that the historical society has that I will have to get
to model the Q as best as I can.
Thanks Again!
