"When was the Burlington Route herald first placed on boxcars?"

Up til 1904, the herald had sublettering for the member road: CB&Q, H&StJ,
B&MR, etc. This shows on vintage photos. Cars painted late in 1904 & beyond
had the BR as we know it today sans any reporting marks. You can assume some
boxcars kept the older style BR herald for several years beyond the 1902
consolidation til either repainted or retired as some showed up in Official
Equipment Registers for some time after 1904.

Subject: [CBQ] Door Style and Lettering for Boxcar circa 1907?

I have a couple of questions about construction practice for 1907 vintage
boxcars. I have the data sheet on XM-25/XM-26 boxcars, but little
information on early Q boxcars except the few pictures in Burlington
Bulletins.

I've noticed that several photos of Q boxcars taken before 1900 have the end
of car data (road and car number) on the upper left (brake wheel side)
instead of the upper right. A photo of a furniture boxcar in the 1895 Car
Builders' Dictionary has the end data on the right. When did it switch?

What was the lettering practice for boxcars, including rebuilds, in 1907?

What was boxcar door and door track construction like in 1907?

Were laterals used on running boards in 1907?

I'd appreciate any information or references on boxcars circa 1907 that
would help answer these questions.
