Gerald stepped forward to put a subject in for this column. And just as I
stated in the first column(Zephyr 57) It is open to all to submit an article
for this column only restriction is it had to be Q Served. I try and figure
the
types of cars used both for inbound and outbound for the modelers/operators.
Being a volunteer group the BRHS the Bulletin/Zephyr/Meets are only as good as
the sum of the input of the members.
Just like the fall sport of Football. The board and officers are the team but
they need the fans in the stands to cheer them on and support them in the
effort
to bring the Society to bigger and better things(publications and meets)
For the nonmembers Join in and help

You're another prime candidate to do a modeling article for the Zephyr; i.e.
"how I modified/detailed this car"
I had to miss Geneva this yr due to family events bu do intend to have a MoW
model next fall as part of a clinic on Q Mow (one of the 6 unique Bunk/Tool
boxcars they had)
Thanks again for the 'indutries' series in the Z - a great expansion of content
(I'm working on similar one on Watkins in Winona)

Gerald and Scott
If you look at my train I generally add the cars I have had at previous
contests
added to my train.
I do not enter to win just to enter and add to the contest. I wanted to enter
my new waycar but it did not meet my level for good enough

Gerald,
That is an excellent idea. I'm sure many of us would be quite interested in
seeing articles with photos, instructions, etc showing the base kit and details
added to achieve high quality Q models (such as those brought to the annual
meetings), similar to Bill Glick's article in the last Zephyr.

You're too modest Ken as I have seen your models in past years. You are 100%
correct though that we have had a lack of participants despite lots of good
basic kits to use as starting points and a plethora of detail parts to give
that
car or loco the distinctive Q "look". Hopefully too recent modeling articles in
the Zephyr will inspire Q fans as well as photos of the winning models. Care to
explain how/what you used for your MoW models for next Zephyr?

It's not that I am so great or have too much time, it's just there was not much
competition. I was very disappointed in the number of models entered. I know
this is the much touted era of RTR but there are still kits out there and
kitbashing or scratchbuilding are not too far out of reach. So i encourage
everyone to get started now and build something for next year and lets have
some COMPETITION in the contest.
l Just like to show things I have built and want to see what others are doing.
So
lets see what you like or are doing.
I do want to give thanks to Larry and Barb for their work in the contest room.
Ken
>Tks for sharing Larry; Ken is really beginning to dominate modeling (too much
time on his hands!) :-)
