Tks! Every RR had a similar area (growing up in Dubuque, the Milw had a lot of
street trackage to two giant millwork plants) and the Q had some sharp curves
in what is called the "Lumber District" in chicago including a spur to a
boatworks on the Chicago river (think of that old Atheran flat with a boat on a
cradle - how else to move a big cabin cruiser in the good ol' days!)
Tks for sharing - superb modeling too. Ideal for small spaces and tight curved
track; i.e. modelers living in an apt!
PS - Q had a similar curved bldg spur like the AT&SF shown at the Watkins plant
in Winona, MN (Watkins Spices, esp. the vanilla - you may have heard of ot)
Watkins & the bldg stills stand and internal curve is still there (imagine a
block square 6 story brick bldg with a curve cut into it so RR could access
intrernal loading dock)

Downtown Los Angeles
I know this has little to do with the CB&Q. My bad! But it is so similar to
the "lumber district", that I had to share this. If you are into urban
switching, this is for you.

Bob Smaus modeled the SP "Rat Hole" district near Downtown LA and has a website
up for "The Patch" (same area) served by the Santa Fe.
Here's a link to "The Patch."

Here's the link to Bob's layout:

The layout site has links to other information as well.
Hope this helps.
