Most of the Bessemer & Lake Erie's traffic was mineral traffic (Coal north, 
Iron Ore south) from Pittsburgh to Lake Erie. When the lake  froze in the 
winter, cars would be leased out and show up in the winter quite often on the 
D&RGW and the C&S with Coal or Beets.
