Just as FYI to those that may be interested. Back in March I posted a message asking about a station on the mainline that served Oswego,IL until the O.O. & F.V. RR was built directly through Oswego(See below). In reviewing my discovery of an 19895 ETT I have found the answer. The station was North Oswego. It was 2.2 miles west of Montgomery and 3.3 miles east of Bristol. Leo Phillipp Just finished reading E W Hicks 1877 "History of Kendall County" (Illinois). Learned that just as there was a "Bristol Station" on the mainline at what is now called Bristol that served the twin towns of Bristol/Yorkville on the river. There was a Oswego Station along the mainline for Oswego until such time as the Ottawa,Oswego and Fox River Vally RR came thru along the river. Once that was built the "Oswego Station" business gradually declined until it was closed. Anyone have an idea where this station may have been between Bristol Station and Montgomery ? Author states it was approx 2 and 1/2 miles NE of the village. Leo Phillipp [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
