However,
If you look closely at the picture the station sign reads Bevier which is
in Mo. Would that be considered West Quincy Mo. ? Tim

You're right on with that date, Pete. When the Kansas City Zephyr and the
upgraded American Royal Zephyr were put in service in the fall of 1953 the old
station in Quincy was abandoned. The new trains stopped at what the public tts
called "Quincy (West)". A few travelers were surprised when they stepped off
the train, not at 2nd and Oak in Quincy, but somewhere in darkest Missouri.
The car which served as the temporary depot at West Quincy was the RIVERVIEW, a
classic heavywight solarium car. As I recall, one would step up to the bar to
purchase a ticket. Seems there was a full length baggage car with the RIVERVIEW
to serve as - what else? - the baggage room.
The new depot was completed in 1954. I believe it was lost in the big flood of
1993 (?) - someone will have to verify this. PAW

I don't recall the date on this picture, but it was (before or after...I t;hink
before) used as a temporary depot at West Quincy, MO while the new station was
being built....I spent part of a night in this "depot" December 27-28 1953
after arriving on Q No. 56 (A M Zephyr) and waiting on Zephyr Rocket Southbound
to take me to St. Louis.

Found this shot of the jewel apparently being used either as a depot or yard
office. Can anyone tell me more about the car?

I hate getting old... Over the years I have learned a lot of things, but I
just can't remember much of it anymore.
