The book is o/p (as a privately printed work, part of a series on various RR's
Durham either visited or collected photos of, I suspect it was a small
printing). Also I do not recall any significant, if indeed there was any, PR
when it was released. One of the truly unique photos (all are full page) is a
Q work train being pulled out of a siding around Dubuque. Durham mistakenly
ID'ed it as a passenger train due to the old coaches in consist. He does not
ID who the photographer is on any and some do not have locations (for the
roster shots it doesn't matter much but for other pics it's frustrating not to
know 'where' that coaling tower, etc was)
Like quite a few authors, unfortunately, Durham did not seek help from the
relevant Historical Society. When I look back at the many books written about
CB&Q the last decade, only 3 or 4 of the authors sought out input from BRHS
mbrs. My opinion of course, but even if I was a great authority on widgets,
wouldn't I want to approach the National Widgets Collectors Assn. to ask if
they had anything to add before finalizing my book?

"Burlington Route - Steam Locomotives & Trains 1941-1952" was privately
published in 1959 by Ken Durham as part of a series of soft-bound b/w photo
books on various railroads. if you have a copy and are familiar with it, please
contact me off list as I have a question & a theory I want to bounce off you.
Thanks!
