Never say never, but the Burlington-owned Pullman sleepers did not have
BURLINGTON on the letterboard. They retained the PULLMAN lettering as long as
they were in Pullman lease - in some cases into the mid 1960's. They also did
not have CB&Q on the corners or centered on the car sides. They just had the
car name centered on the lower sides. When they were pulled from Pullman
lease, the painted out the letterboard and did not replace it with BURLINGTON -
they left it blank. They put CB&Q centered on the lower car sides and place
the Q's car number below that. In some cases they blanked the PULLMAN
letterboard, but retained the car name on the lower sides.
This means, of course, that all of the Walthers Pullman sleepers lettered for
BURLINGTON are incorrect.

Can anyone tell me how the CB&Q painted the Plan 3410/3410A "Mc"-series 12
Section - 1 Drawing Roomsleepers that were acquired via the divestiture of
Pullman rolling stock? Tom Madden's Pullman Car Construction Records the
cars are shown in standard Pullman lettering and green paint. Did the CB&Q
do anything to denote ownership of the cars, like the FW&D's "Betterment"
cars which carried sublettering?
Any help would be appreciated.
