Gary,
If you are interested in the line from Edgemont to Deadwood, "A High Line
Scrapbook" is great. Along with some history and time tables etc it has a
milepost by milepost section with photographs and descriptions of each point of
interest. My HO train layout includes a section from Edgemont to Deadwood so
this book was perfect for me. Most of the photo's are from the 1970's & early
80's (when the line was abandoned). If you are more interested in the early
days (1880 - 1930 ish) then the Fielder "Railroads of the Black Hills" has the
most information.
