The same time period you have all the new depot construction on the Q and other
needed improvements and all the Railroads were doing the improvements after the
struggle to get the lines together and throw off the USRA management.
Suppose to be a good article in Railway Age in 1912 on Joliet UD I have not had
time or access to look it up. Did find a lot of good info on the way to
Streator I am working on now

I believe that Joliet did the same thing at around the same time period when
Union Station was built, all the railroads had to foot the bill.
