Train 41-90 must have been the train that my sister-in-law rode home from school in 1950-51. My wife (and sisters) were from Hoag, between Beatrice and De Witt, and went to country school thru 8th grade. When my sister-in-law was in 9th grade (at Beatrice), she was too young to get a special school driving permit, so she rode the train home in the afternoon from Beatrice to Hoag. Train 41 must have been punctual for her to ride regularly. CB&Q must have been accommodating also, as Hoag was not listed as a stop in the public timetable. Last service between Wymore and St. Joe via Table Rock and Napier was IIRC Feb 1962 when trains 89-42 and 41-90 were discontinued.
