BNSF still has some SD9's on the roster. They are renumbering them to make way
for new GE's, and rather than renumbering them as BNSF units they are using GN
reporting marks. One of these units is ex-Q, another one ex-C&S. With them
being renumbered, makes you wonder how much longer they will be on the roster.
One might make a nice unit for preservation.

Stored BNSF SD9s now GN
BNSF has relettered/renumbered five long-stored SD9s with GN reporting marks.
GN 1716, ex-BNSF 1716, ex-BN 6119, ex-BNSF 6119, ex-BN 6119, ex-GN 592
GN 1718, ex-BNSF 1718, ex-BNSF 6123, ex-BN 6123, ex-GN 596
GN 1721, ex-BNSF 1721, ex-BNSF 6101, ex-BN 6204, ex-CBQ 457
GN 1722, ex-BNSF 1722, ex-BNSF 6136, ex-BN 6237, ex-C&S 842
GN 1731, ex-BNSF 1731, ex-BNSF 6126, ex-BN 6126, ex-GN 599
A note about the GN 1716: After it was renumbered to BNSF 6119, it did get
numbered back to BN 6119 for two days before going to BNSF 1716. This was to
make room for ES44AC 6119.
I don't know about any of the others listed, but the 1731 does wear GN marks:
