They could be, because the line is the old Fulton County Narrow Gauge Railway 
after the the "Q" took it over in 1904 and widen it in 1905.
It is the main line between Lewistown. Il. and Galesburg. Il.

Bob, do you know the location of the M&StL wreck your grandfather cleared? I 
have a series of photos of a wreck that reportedly
took place on the M&StL in London Mills, ILL in the early 20's. One of the 
photos shows what looks like it could be a CB&Q wrecker
and caboose in the background.
