Thanks for this. My reference material showed that all the hoppers built by
the CB&Q after 1930 (at least until 1948) had
Enterprise doors but it is the earlier ones built before 1930 that I'm
interested in.
I found reports of court proceedings commenced by Enterprise against other
companies for patent infringement over the door mechanism
but the earliest one was 1935, so I suspect that it may have been the only
proprietary design until that time.
The other hopper doors I haven't identified are those fitted to the five Corten
steel hoppers numbered 191995-9 built in 1935 by
Pressed Steel.
