Rupert and others
It was part of having a Union Job with seniority list. First man hired was No.
1 and each man hired after took his place using hired on date or first day
worked in the craft. ie Dispatchers use to get a date after working as a
dispatcher for 60 days. Two guys might hire on or start the same day but the
one to get the 60 days in was the "oldest man" I started as a dispatcher on
Feb. 14th but did not get my 60 days in till April 12th. Today it is the
higest grade on the rules test and the day you took it.
When a job opens up you submit a form with your name and Seniority date
Last I looked No. 2
And 14 working days till I pull the pin

Leo

You referred in your message to "train crew bidding purposes", and I've seen
other references to "bidding'. Can you explain what
happened and why?

Thanks in anticipation.
