Holck's book, Burlington Route Color Pictorial, Volume 1, p. 71 shows a pair
of E5As on the Denver Zephyr in 1956. Page 69 shows E5AB units on the Denver
Zephyr in 1947. Volume 1 and 2 also have a few pictures of E5s on the
Nebraska Zephyr.

Spoor's book, CB&Q in Color (Vol. 1-4) has several E5 photos, including the
one in Vol. 1 on page 82-83 of the CZ.

I model the California Zephyr in HO and N scales.  I have a Proto 2000 E6
which I am converting to an E5, based on drawings in Mainline Modeler,
November 2003.   Does anyone have or know of a photo of a Q E5 on the point
of the CZ?   I have to believe that sometime in the early years, an E5,
which is my favorite Q diesel, has to have pulled the CZ to Denver or
Chicago.
