John and Charlie, The SW1000s were delivered from EMD in 1966 with the early simplified blackbird paint scheme which had "Burlington" in block letters along the side of the hood in stead of "Everywhere West" and Way of the Zephyrs". One of the units, no. 9314, was burned in the Gibson Yard roundhouse fire in Omaha on Feb. 2, 1969, and was rebuilt and repainted with a further simplified blackbird paint scheme which included white stripes around the front and a white stripe along the side sill. I believe it was the only SW1000 with that paint scheme. A photo of #9314 can be found on page #96 of Michael Spoor's volume #3. None of the others required repainting until the BN merger.
