NIFA = Northern Illinois Fair Association? As I recall Leo or another poster yrs ago mentioned the Q brought PRR horse cars to the Fairgrounds for racing. (Walthers once had a metal HO model of same) As for old timetables, I have full TT's back to 1878 and would guess there are some earlier (of course not nearly as many pages as later editions; indeed prior to 1890 they were a large sheet folded accordion styple into TT size). Newspaper ads were indeed used in the very early days (this Annual Passes sometimes known as 'Editorial' passes were given to newspapermen. I have an ETT from 1868 - BIG difference as to names of "suburbs" coming our from the original Chicago station.
