Leo: I have been planning an N-scale layout focusing on the C&I sub from Galena Jct. east to Flag Center. I have compiled schedules for the 1950s & 1960s on this section, but I don't currently have much information about local freight operations. About all I know is that there was an "Oregon Turn" run out of Eola, that serviced Oregon and Mt. Morris. In your recent note about bananas on the CB&Q list on yahoo, you mentioned a "Savanna Pickup". Although I have suspected this train existed, your mention of it was the first actual reference I have seen to it. I am guessing it serviced Galena and Galena Jct, but I wouldn't have guessed it went so far as Dubuque. I would be most appreciative if of learning whatever you could tell me about the Savanna pickup that you mentioned, especially stuff like its typical route, duties and departure and arrival times. Please can you fill me in? Regards, Paul Leonard ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
