The "old CB&Q" is fast disappearing from Lincoln. Grade crossings have been
replaced by overpasses. The grand Antelope Valley Project is eliminating
crossings at 17th and 14th streets and the whole trackside from 27th thru
downtown is being fenced off. Yes, the towers are gone. No UP crossings as
the UP ends at Salt Creek and connects via the old MoPac connector line. UP
depot and yard is gone. There's not much access to the yard anymore, but most
of the old buildings are gone anyway.
Drop down to Wymore sometime and your jaw will drop. What used to be a
division point and junction now has no rail service!
