The Mooseheart depot still exists - a 'Spanish style' as has a tile roof. In
their museum are photos of special CB&Q trains there (remmants of the old
trestle built but the Ottawa, Oswego & Forx River Valley exist not too far
north of the depot in a deep ravine). I was never able to ascertain from the
staff there if the depot was built by Mooseheart or CB&Q but was designed to
fit the architecture of Mooseheart (national children's home for the Loyal
Order of Moose fraternity). You can see part of the RoW including the spur to
the Mooseheart power plant; ditto for a few areas in Geneva (at one time the
line extended all the way north to St. Charles to a jct with C&NW but was one
of the first abandonments on the system. The line then termed at Geneva at an
iron works which along with the Mooseheart powerplant gave reason for the line
to exist for so many yrs. (It also ran immediately behind the art deco Ipana
Bldg between Batavia & Geneva which had a
small footbridge not unlike one over a moat for forklift traffic over the line
at their dock. There is also a Waycar in a park on north side of Wheaton near
the old Chicago, Aurora & Elgin row (now a 'Prairie Path'.
It's been 19 yrs since we moved from W. Chicago & despite some visits since I
do not recall the names of ea location. There is also a couple restored depots
on the triple track on the commuter line and the other sights you listed.
