The book "Silver @ your Service" by Dominy & Morgenfruh lists 10 Q flatware
patters, 3 FtW&D & 1 C&S as of 1987 collectors' info. RCAI may have listed
more since. There are also excellent reference books on RR china & silver
holloware with the Burlington very well represented. As to which was used
where/when is known in a few cases but not all. In the 1960's the Q much of
their surplus china & silver to employees via the Burlington Bulletin.

We had an excellent clinic on Q china by Bob Stanage at an annual meet yrs ago
& I could provide one on Q flat & holloware as well as linens & headrest covers
if there were sufficient interest. Gerald

I also have some gold colored silverware with the burlington route logo on it.

6:15 PMWill anyone give a brief synopsis of the history of Burlington Route
dining car silver service markings? For instance, early stuff seems to have had
the well-known Burlington Route square logo on the side and later stuff seems
to have had the "BR" (with a backward B) on a side. This begs a number of
questions: e.g., were the sides ever decorated any other way, when was the
changeover from one style to another, did any of the silver service have the
designation "Chicago, Burlington & Quincy", or "Colorado & Southern", or "Fort
Worth & Denver" (or their abbreviations" on the bottom) whenever the Burlington
Route square logo was used on the side, etc.Esoteric information to be sure but
it is interesting, especially to the collector.[Non-text portions of this
