The DZ consist expanded and contracted as traffic demanded.
Cars from other roads were sometimes present in the consist. When I rode the
train east in 1962, two Pennsy duplex sleepers, Manor Brook, and Marsh Brook
substituted for slumbercoach SC19 and a Missouri Pacific dome car was in the
Colorado Springs section. In 1967, we had a Union Pacific baggage car on our
train.
The order of cars was generally as follows:
Domed Observation Parlor Lounge
Sleepers including a 6DBR 5 Compartment sleeper, the position of which I do not
know.
Diner
10-6 sleeper - Chicago-Colo. Sprgs.
Slumbercoach - Chicago-Colo. Sprgs.
Dome Chuckwagon - Chicago-Colo Sprgs (Summer Only)
Coach - Chicago-Colo. Sprgs. (summer only)
dome coach - Chicago-Colo. Sprgs (off season)
Dome Chuckwagon - Chicago-Denver (off season)
slumbercoach
coaches
dome coach (summer only)
coaches (summer only)
dome coach lounge (summer only)
coach(s) (summer only)

Was the consist of the Denver Zephyr "fixed" for this time frame 1960 -
1965 (Like the CZ or the TCZ)?
If so, what was the order of the cars? I understand that at heavy
travel times, there may have been 2 or 3 sections of the train.
Also, did the DZ carry cars from other roads in these extra sections?
Thanks in advance
